An explanation

I'm starting this blog to document my works in game development. Although I've been reluctant to since it takes time, it may help me to see the bigger picture of a game, thus helping overall productivity.

I remember my first taste of programming was with BASIC in an ITE class. I was surprised how easy it was to program and almost immediately made a little 'choose your own adventure' text game. From there, since I already familiar Flash Professional, I jumped right into Action Script trying to develop a 'point and click adventure' game.

It's hard to believe how long it's been since I started working on games. I'm quite proud of how far I've come, yet I feel that I still know so little. So much time wasted on graphical work. So much time wasted on wondering what to do next. It's a long uphill road of learning what not to do but I've greatly enjoyed much of it.

Currently I'm in the process of finishing up three relatively small games; CrossFlip, Taunt, and Block Pusher. Possibly even a fourth named Maze Defender.

All three are written in AS3 and mostly developed in FlashDevelop with FlashPunk. They are all top down square grids with different functionality and graphics.
